Independently develops methods and solutions for construction / engineering problems; selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the project objectives. Completes a wide variety of difficult construction / engineering assignments, applying construction / engineering techniques and analysis within one discipline. The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most construction / engineering theories and practices. Some assignments involve CAE/CAD (computer aided engineering/computer aided design) applications. Travel or relocation to supplier, client, or construction site locations may be required.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
May have to manage more than one contract.
Act as Engineer’s Representative.
Coordinate with the department and contractor.
Liaise with other authorities.
Advise on contractual and construction matters.
Liaise with department and approve contractor’s submissions.
Coordinate forward planning.
Be fully conversant with the contract terms and conditions.
Implement the terms and conditions of contract.
Generally supervise, review, monitor and report on progress.
Liaise with all parties for site safety.
Convene and chair regular site meetings.
Issue additional drawings etc. as required.
Provide technical leadership to his team.
Coordinate and monitor activities of his team.
Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of records according to ISO 9001.
Maintain awareness of contracts financial status.
Give final approval to works and arrange handover.
